This week, I got Dave Taylor’s book The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Growing Your Business with Google
. I handed it off to my wife, who read it in a day (like I knew she would). Afterwards, she passed it back to me.
Growing Your Business with Google takes you step by step through the best ways to increase your “findability” in Google, and in turn, other popular search engines. It starts from the beginning, walking you through processes like picking a good domain name, designing your site to be search engine friendly, increasing qualified traffic, and using and optimizing AdSense, AdWords and affiliate marketing.
Not only did we both learn a lot, it got us motivated to make some small, simple changes to all of our sites which will hopefully pay off in increased traffic and income. It’s a work in progress, but what isn’t?

Rob, like you, I too have found a lot of value in the book. If you wnat to dig a little deeper, you may also want to check out one of Dave’s other books (I’m still going through it) called “Creating Cool Web Sites with HTML, XHTML and CSS”.
